Don Laka's 50th Birthday Celebration Tour kicks-off in Mabopane

Mabopane is set to be hit by The Kwaai-Jazz fever when the Jazz under the Morula Tree concert stages the launch of legendary jazz icon Don Laka's 50th Birthday Celebration Tour of South Africa at Morula Sun on 30 March 2008.

The concert features a sizzling line-up of South Africa's finest jazz artists featuring Don Laka heading the events supported by Herman Fox Manganyi, Oupa "Poys" Makhubela, Zama Jobe, McCoy Mrubata, Gloria Bosman, Palesa and a host of other prominent artists.

The concept is a brainchild of Don Laka, the internationally acclaimed and South Africa’s own son of the soil. He is a pioneer, known to defy his convention in his free artistic spirit that dawns all his creations.

"This event is aimed at launching my 50th birthday celebration in different townships across South Africa and will bring together the high-profile talents of the country's finest jazz artists to the masses.

"These artists have been specifically selected to appeal to a broad base of music fans who love Mzansi's home brewed music," explains Don Laka, also Managing Director of Bokone Music.

The Kwaai Jazz fever is set to continue at Sebokeng in the heart of theVaal Triangle and then move down to Heidelberg where it is set to bring jazz rhythms alive .Dates to be confirmed in due course.

Wrap yourselves up in this warm blanket of jazzy rhythms as the ensemble of musicians shake off the coming season's blues and bid farewell to summer with a once in a lifetime experience. Avoid being left behind and join the celebrations as they head to Mabopane.
